Strays in Crete are not in good health conditions. You can contribute in helping them receive medical treatment and live a healthier life. Here’s a list of what you can do:

Be careful to not separate a mother from her babies. Observe for a few hours and make sure they’re completely on their own before making the decision to bring an animal to the vet.

If an animal needs heavy medical care, it shouldn’t be release in the streets too soon and will need a foster home to recover. Make sure to solve that problem early enough.

Pet medicines such as deworming pills can be bought at a vet’s or in pet supplies stores, not at the pharmacy. You can also bring some with you from your homeland.
